♥ Let's talk bigbangs, shall we? I've signed up for werewolfbigbang and both waves of bandombigbang as writer and artist and kradambigbang as an artist. I'm especially excited for my bandombigbang fics. I'm wanted to do a cartoonBeetlejuice!MCR au and an alien-conqueror fic for my cannibal'verse.

♥ It's winter here and it's supposed to be cold, right? We've had 60-70 degree days for the past few weeks. I'm never gonna get to use my new sled. ;_;
 

♥ Happy Halloween everyone! There really isn't anything to do around here for halloween so I went out to eat with my mom and watched halloween movies. I'm surprised I didn't crash today. I stayed up til four last night watching Xena.

♥ I turned in my journeystory fic. I haven't completely finished it but I have most of it done. There's at least another 5000 words that need to be written for it to be done though. I'm working on my piratebb fic now.

♥ I'm sort of participating in NaNoWriMo this month. I'm still going for the 50000 words but I'm doing multiple fics. It totally counts. >.>

♥ anon_lovefest is one of my favorite new comms. Just so ya know.

♥ Speaking of comms, I've created a new one. Has anyone else watched My Babysitter's A Vampire. Well if you haven't then go do that right now. I've created a comm for the fandom. Let me introduce you to bbabysitter_vamp. And yes, I do slash there.

Also known as The Why Tara Shouldn't Have Vault Before Bed Rant:

A friend of mine posted something on a forum that got me thinking about this. She even posted a note a the end of it saying that she didn’t mean it about me, which made me smile cause its great to have friends like that and god knows I’ve written some poor excuses for slash in my fandom time.

She talked about how some people slash characters together just cause they look hot together and how that wasn’t fair to the characters themselves. And, honestly, it’s not. But while it helps that two characters have chemistry when slashing them, its not necessary. Whether the fic turns out good or not really depends on the writers ability to pull it off themselves.

There are pairings that I’ve attempted to write that turned into Fics That Will Never See The Light Of Day because my fic writing ability isn’t at a level that I can turn them into something good enough for public consumption. Its usually not my reasoning in the fics--cause give me long enough with a fic and I can explain away anything--but it usually stems from the characterizations. Characterization can either make or break a fic.

At the very least, I like to try write pairings that have some sort of chemistry, whether its imaginary or not. RJ and Casey had chemistry, Luke and Jack had a strange sort of chemistry (which I could break off into a love/hate tangent but I‘ll spare everyone), and Arthur and Merlin’s chemistry is obvious. However, and this applies to het pairings as well, there are ships I would never have even considered except for the fact that someone wrote a fic well though that it made me believe it. Length helps in fics like that because it gives more room to flesh out the pairing but length can also kill a fic quickly if you can’t pull it off.

She also mentioned that [in Power Rangers], most of the characters are canonically straight, which is true for pretty much all fandoms. Dillon/Summer is all but canon in the series--after all they did ride off into the sunset together, even if Tenaya was in the backseat and really what kind of crappy finale was that?-- but I really don’t like Summer herself. Her character was too much of a Mary Sue for my taste and I can certainly think of other characters who could have used two part episodes more than her (like Ziggy’s who involved the mob or Dr. K). Which probably encourages my slashing of Dillon/Ziggy. I’m sure others can say the same thing about characters I like.

I’ve been lucky to have awesome fandom friends who not only listen to my slashy ranting but also encourages it. They may not necessary like the same pairings but still cheer me on all the same and I love them for it.

Last Night On Earth- Delta Goodrem

I saw this on a music video and immediately fell in love with it. It's just so gorgeous, sad and loving at the same time.

So after going out and buying the stuff I finally did the zulu knots. And I have to say that they turned out very pretty. I have pictures for those who want to see! And yes, that is pizza crust I'm holding. XD

But I also have to say, never again! It didn't take too long to do them, only about two and half hours, but they hurt to high hell. I did them last night and turned around having to try and sleep on them. It didn't work out too well and I only got about four hours of sleep. What we did was twist them and tucked each twist under the previous one so it tighter and tighter. The hairstyle ended up giving me a headache and making me physically sick.

But I got my school ID made with that hairstyle and they can't take that away from me. But I ended up coming home after that, showering to wash that junk out of my hair, taking a handfull of asprin and crashing on my bed for about three hours.

So I feel better and I can hopefully get some writing done tonight.

 

I've been working on my reel_merlin fic and realize that I've eight pages into it and haven't even really gotten into the story. I'm also been procrastinating horribly about it. But I'm forcing myself to buckle down and have most of it finished by Sunday at the least. Someone's offered to beta so I'll send it to them then. For a fic that's supposed to be based off the movie Crybaby, there is very very little similarities. But my bunnies go where they want to go.

I haven't even started on my second reel_merlin fic (which is supposed to be based off the movie 'My Best Friend is a Vampire') or my HSMBigBang fic (which is a magic!au), so I'm seriously doubting either of them are going to get done. Maybe next time around?

School's starts in about two weeks. I have one orientation for my new web class come the 29th and registration two days before. I already signed up for my classes so all I need to get is my parking permit and my ID.

Books for all these classes are going to run me over 600 dollars new though. *groans* Which sucks but luckily I have enough financial aid coming back to cover it.

I've also decided to do something a little different for my hair for my school ID. I don't know how well it's going to turn out but my mother is going to help me work on it this weekend to see how it goes. It's a variation of Zulu knots and I've included some nice pictures of what it should look like when it's done. Only not bleached.

Speaking of the Tribe, I'm going to try and get my sister to watch the first couple of episodes tonight. I have some of season five on disk and a few of season one. We'll start at the beginning and see how it turns out. She also thinks the zulu knots won't look good on my hair. But she doesn't like the look period. I also have season one of Big Wolf on Campus which I'm excited about. The picture on its not as bad as I thought it would be.

I'll try and post pictures of how he zulu knots turn out when I get them done.
