Rec: Shift Happens
Nov. 11th, 2009 09:19 pmI didn't know any of this stuff. It's crazy. I paid more attention to this video than I have so far in my whole MicroEconomics class this year.
Dude...
We just had every red-neck white trash episode of cops happen two houses down. The whole lot of us went outside to watch. My sister was with a friend and she got dropped off in the middle of all this. Her friend stayed as well.
It's about 40 degrees outside too so we're bundled up with blankets and and sweaters. But we were in a hurry to watch it all go down so most of us are in flip-flops as well. At one point everyone in the house was outside watching it. My mother was leaning against her car, my sister and her friend are on the swing on the porch, my grandmother is leaning outside the door, and even my cat is outside staring. But I think she was more interested in the lights than anything.
Anyways, they loaded a woman and a baby into the ambulance, arrested two men and all we could hear was a woman yelling 'I wanna take car of my baby', 'arrest him', and 'it'll get thrown out in court anyways!'. Me and my sisters friend had to hide behind a tree at the edge of the property to hear what they were yelling. And because the woman yelling kinda scared us.
God, we are so nosy...
So after going out and buying the stuff I finally did the zulu knots. And I have to say that they turned out very pretty. I have pictures for those who want to see! And yes, that is pizza crust I'm holding. XD
But I also have to say, never again! It didn't take too long to do them, only about two and half hours, but they hurt to high hell. I did them last night and turned around having to try and sleep on them. It didn't work out too well and I only got about four hours of sleep. What we did was twist them and tucked each twist under the previous one so it tighter and tighter. The hairstyle ended up giving me a headache and making me physically sick.
But I got my school ID made with that hairstyle and they can't take that away from me. But I ended up coming home after that, showering to wash that junk out of my hair, taking a handfull of asprin and crashing on my bed for about three hours.
So I feel better and I can hopefully get some writing done tonight.
School and Fics and Hairstlyes (Oh my!)

I've been working on my reel_merlin fic and realize that I've eight pages into it and haven't even really gotten into the story. I'm also been procrastinating horribly about it. But I'm forcing myself to buckle down and have most of it finished by Sunday at the least. Someone's offered to beta so I'll send it to them then. For a fic that's supposed to be based off the movie Crybaby, there is very very little similarities. But my bunnies go where they want to go.
I haven't even started on my second reel_merlin fic (which is supposed to be based off the movie 'My Best Friend is a Vampire') or my HSMBigBang fic (which is a magic!au), so I'm seriously doubting either of them are going to get done. Maybe next time around?
School's starts in about two weeks. I have one orientation for my new web class come the 29th and registration two days before. I already signed up for my classes so all I need to get is my parking permit and my ID.

Books for all these classes are going to run me over 600 dollars new though. *groans* Which sucks but luckily I have enough financial aid coming back to cover it.
I've also decided to do something a little different for my hair for my school ID. I don't know how well it's going to turn out but my mother is going to help me work on it this weekend to see how it goes. It's a variation of Zulu knots and I've included some nice pictures of what it should look like when it's done. Only not bleached.

Speaking of the Tribe, I'm going to try and get my sister to watch the first couple of episodes tonight. I have some of season five on disk and a few of season one. We'll start at the beginning and see how it turns out. She also thinks the zulu knots won't look good on my hair. But she doesn't like the look period. I also have season one of Big Wolf on Campus which I'm excited about. The picture on its not as bad as I thought it would be.
I'll try and post pictures of how he zulu knots turn out when I get them done.

Modern Ancient Humanities Class?
Feb. 12th, 2009 06:53 pmOkay, so I'm not even completely sure what the name of the class I'm in right now is but I'm fairly sure we've gone off topic. Some how we've moved from Isaac Newton to Mono.
Student to my left: *is pouring sometime into a bottle*
Teacher: Are you pouring drugs in there or something?
StmL: No, it's Crystal Light. Want some?
Teacher: *seems horrified* No! I'm scared to drink after people. I know I'll get sick and die!
StmL: *is offended*
Student behind me: There's mono going around Black Fox (an elementary school). There are twenty students sick out of one class.
Teacher: See! You shouldn't be drinking after people!
StmL: Or eating after people.
SbM: Or stand to close to people. *gets weird stares* What?! I like my personal space!
Teacher: Or go kissing random strangers...
Me: *damn*
Teacher: *looking at me* Did you just say damn?
Me: Did I say that out loud?
But somehow we made it back on track. My teachers only go on random rants like this during night classes. And to top it off, the air conditioner's broken in here.
