Notes: Part of my werewolf!AU. Set after Snowed In. Written for
shelter_diner's Holiday Fest 2009 using the prompt ‘snowball fight’.
oOoOoOoOoOoOo
Zach and Cody barely made it outside on the deck before two large wolves shot past them, flying down the stairs and hitting the snow, sending it everywhere. Cody giggled and took off after Gabe, who was more than happy to play along. The larger wolf just pranced over to Zach and shook, sending the snow still clinging to his fur all over him.
“Hey!”
Shaun just bumped him against him in the leg, pushing him toward the stairs. When Zach reached the bottom he was rewarded with ‘smack’ as snow caught the edge of his collar and felt it start to drip under his coat.
There was more giggling and he turned to see Cody poised with another snowball, ready to strike. Gabe sat next to him, looking more amused than any wolf had the right to. “Don’t you dare!” The words were barely out of his mouth before Cody threw it. But it completely missed him, instead hitting Shaun in the side.
Reaching down, Zach made a snowball of his own and Cody went wide eyed, before taking off, Gabe right behind.
Zach ran after them but was knocked off balance before he could even reach the side of the cabin. Blinking, he reached up, intending to shove the wolf off, but instead a hand wrapped around his and pinned his arm beside his head.
Shaun’s grinning face appeared above him. He looked pleased with himself, enjoying the fact that he had his mate pinned under him.
Something curled and uncurled in Zach’s chest as lips pressed gently against his own. It was enough to ignore the cold snow seeping into his clothes.
Smack.
Shaun blinked as snow dripped down his head.
“Told you, Cody.” Gabe was standing right beside the boy, another snowball bouncing in his hand.
“No, no, no, no--.”
That didn’t stop the two as they began to pelt them with snowballs.
Shaun scrambled off of him, as the two ran off again, disappearing around the side off the house.
