“Snow! Snow! Snow!”
Zach felt the bed shake as Cody jumped on it, snapping him from deep sleep to awake in moments. He opened one bleary eye to look at his nephew before sliding deeper under the covers. “I know, buddy. It was there last night when we got in.”
The cabin belonged to Gabe and Shaun’s grandparents, who had graciously allowed them to use it for the weekend.
“Zach…” Cody whined, shaking him. “Come look.”
A quick glance at the clock told him what he already suspected. That it was far too early for anyone to be awake on vacation. He rolled back over and stretched his arm out, expecting to feel warm flannel being worn by the man next to him. Instead he ended up with a handful of fur.
He blinked and jerked his head to look. A large sleeping wolf was stretched out beside him, obvious to what was going on around him.
“Dude, he’s really taking advantage of this, isn’t he?”
Zach sat up looked up to see Gabe standing in the doorway, looking far more amused than anyone had the right to this early.
Shaun’s head perked up at the sound of his brother’s voice and he gave a huff of annoyance, before squirming closer to Zach. A hand began sliding through his fur in response.
There was a laugh from the man in the door before he tilted his head toward a window. “You really do need to see this, dude. I don’t think we’re going anywhere for a while.”
Confused, he crawled out from under the covers and looked through the blinds, ignoring Shaun’s whine. “Holy…”
Gabe grinned as he flopped down on the bed beside Cody. “Looks like we’re snowed in.”
